Dealer financing might not help you establish credit If you have no credit, some auto dealers will give you an auto loan at very high interest rate. They might assure you that you can refinance later after you build up a credit history.
Unfortunately, many auto dealers don't report "good credit" to the credit reporting agencies. They only update your credit for bad events, such as a reposession. The effect is that your credit history doesn't improve, and you are unlikely to be able to refinance.
